A phone can fill up long before its photos and recordings stop being useful. MEGA stores uploaded files in an encrypted Cloud Drive tied to the user’s account. Send a video from Android, then pick it up later on a laptop. The MEGA mod APK covered here is a modified build of the Android app, but its exact changes have not been provided.
Seeing the same filename in several parts of MEGA can be misleading. A Cloud Drive entry, an Offline item, and a synced local file may represent separate copies. Delete the one on the phone and the online file may stay where it is. Inside a two-way synced folder, however, changes can reach another device.
A deleted photo may still be in Camera Uploads
Take several photos during a trip. Camera Uploads sends new shots to the selected MEGA folder as they appear on the phone. Clearing the gallery later does not necessarily clear the uploaded set. Before removing local originals, open the cloud folder and make sure the transfers have finished. A bad shot that should disappear completely must also be deleted online.
With Wi-Fi only selected, new recordings stay pending while the phone is using mobile data. A queued item is not a remote copy yet. Check that the transfer has finished before erasing the local original. Every completed upload takes up space in the account.
A project folder synced through MEGA on both the phone and a laptop follows different rules. Under two-way Sync, rename a file on the laptop and the new name reaches Android. Delete it there, and the phone may lose its copy too. Receipt scans may need only an extra copy away from the phone. One-way Backup copies that folder from Android to MEGA without making both locations mirror each other.
A visible filename is not an offline copy
Cloud Drive can show a file even though its contents are not stored on the phone. Tap a video and the app may stream it from the cloud. A train entering a tunnel can stop playback halfway through. The data used for streaming also counts against the account’s transfer allowance.
For a boarding pass or PDF needed underground, choose Available Offline while the phone still has a connection. Wait for the download to finish and open the file once before leaving. Offline folders use device storage, especially when they contain long videos. Removing an item from Offline frees that space without touching the cloud original. Deleting it from Cloud Drive is a separate action.
Account limits do not live inside the APK
Changing the APK does not change the MEGA account by itself. MEGA checks storage and transfer limits against the signed-in plan. The word mod alone is not proof of a Premium account, higher limits, faster downloads, or removed advertising.
If the account password is forgotten, the recovery key can be used to set a new one without losing access to the stored files. Export that key from the account settings and keep the saved copy somewhere other than the same phone.
