[root] LiveBoot Mod Apk
LiveBoot shows logcat and other dmesg outputs as they occur on screen. The output configuration can include logcat level buffer selection and format selection, whether or not to display dmesg and the size of your screen. It also includes whether you should use word-wrap and whether color-coding should be used. You can also set the background to be transparent so that it overlays the boot animation. This looks great during boot. Although the lines in test mode are limited and static, it does not show exact boot times. It just illustrates how it works and what size it will become.
LiveBoot can only be seen after your data partition has been mounted. You will need to type a pattern or decryption key at boot in order for it to show up.
Root
The app requires root, but SuperSU version 2.0 or later. This is due to the way that boot-time code launches. The app can also function on other rooted firmwares that are compatible, but it isn't officially supported so cannot be guaranteed.
Compatibility
The app officially supports version 5.0 or newer. The app can work with any version of the app, but it will not on all devices. It has worked on several of my devices with different firmwares, but not all. It does not always work on boot, even if it passes the test. It works most of the time, but it may not work every single time.
It does not mean that I can guarantee it will continue to work. Even if the firmware updates are successful today, it could fail tomorrow. You should not upgrade to Pro if this is an issue.
Bootloops are very unlikely, but they do exist. Should a bootloop occur removing either the appand's APK or /system/su.d/0000liveboot through recovery should fix the problem.
Except you're using SuperSU system-less, the app will write to /system. Your firmware should allow for this. This time, there is not a recovery-based installation option.
Pro
To upgrade to Pro, there is an in-app payment. This supports my development and unlocks transparency options as well as the logcat buffer. Format selection can also be purchased.
If you own one of those paid versions of the live logcat boot animations or the live dmesg boots animations, this will allow for Pro mode.
As with many of my apps, if you do not have Google Play and still manage to download the APK it will enable Pro mode.
Last, but certainly not least: If you don't wish to pay it off there is a button that will enable Pro mode.
Script
If /system/su.d/0000liveboot.script or /su/su.d/0000liveboot.script exists (chmod 0644 not 0700 like other files in /system/su.d/ or /su/su.d/ !) This script will replace logcat or dmesg. Its output will appear in red (stderr)
