Select proper frame width.

Stopwatch the start of the race.

Start recording when the winner is near the finish line.

Stop recording when the athlete crosses the finish line.

Locate the time the winner crossed the finish line. This is the exact result. The cursor line's timestamp shows it.

Direction

This application employs the slit photo technique. The application combines several frames into the final image. It does so in chronological order. You can see an estimated stopwatch timeline in the scale of the image. The numbers at the bottom show millisecond timestamps.

It is easier to put frames together in "left-to-right" or "right-to left" order depending on the way the winner approaches the finish line.

The frame width.
