Detailed Overview

Use gestures to turn the screen on

You can save your battery life by turning the screen on with gestures. The proximity sensor can be used to turn on the screen or you can lift the phone up. You can remove the proximity sensor from your pocket to turn the screen on by removing it. If your fingers are soiled, you can wave the proximity sensor over and off! The tilt angle can be set to turn the screen on when you lift the phone up.

You can choose from a variety of methods to detect the use of your device, and the display will stay on. Motion detection detects tiny movements by you holding the device. The proximity sensor can be activated by waving your hand over it. This will keep the screen from going black and extend the timeout. Tilt angle allows your display to remain on even when it isnt being held. The display can be set to stay on even while you are using certain apps or on a phone call. However, the display will still turn off when the device is placed in front of your ears.

To save battery, quickly turn off the Time Screen

When the screen is not being used, you can set the screen to time out. The screen should be turned off quickly if it isnt being used. This will save you battery energy. If the screen is pointed downward or the proximity sensor is in-pocket, the screen will turn off faster. A separate timeout can be set for the lock screen. KinScreen wont turn off the screen if other apps keep it on unless you choose to turn it off actively.

Resources

KinScreen was designed to be efficient and as battery-friendly as possible. The use of CPU, memory, and sensors is minimal. Some functions require more power than others. While the proximity sensor can be noticeable on older devices, it is minimal on modern ones. Turn-on-by-tilt-angle will use significant battery power because it needs to keep the device awake in order to work. To limit how long this function can be used, you may set up optional exceptions.
