You take the role of Backfire, an exorcist who is on a mission for an ancient curse to be removed. You have one tool, a ship that fires out of the back. BACKFIRE IS CURSED. Your soul will be bound in the machine if you install Backfire. Only complete victory can release you; otherwise, you'll be condemned.

Numerous enemies will hinder your path, ancient demons may stand against you, and death will continue to come. You can only purify this curse with perseverance and skill. YOU'VE BEEN ADVISED.
